Prof. M. Yadagiri is the senior Professor of Commerce, Telangana University, Nizamabad. Presently, he is the Registrar of Telangana University and Chairman, BoS, Department of Commerce. He holds M.Com, M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Kakatiya University, Warangal, and an M.B.A. from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, in the area of Accounting and Finance. He has put in 32 years of active teaching and research experience.
He has received the State Meritorious Teacher Award – 2023 from the Government of Telangana, and the Bharat Excellence Award – 2023 from Friendship Forum, New Delhi.
He has served as Controller of Examinations, Principal of University College, and Director of the Directorate of Academic Audit, Telangana University. He also served as Registrar of Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, for a period of 3 years.
He has organized several national and international seminars and workshops. Under his supervision, 13 candidates have been awarded Ph.D. degrees and 8 are currently pursuing research in Commerce. He has authored and co-authored 51 books on Accounting, Financial Management, Banking Law and Practice, Quantitative Techniques and Taxation for under-graduate and post-graduate students, and has edited 6 books published by the Telugu Akademi, Hyderabad. His research publications include around 85 articles in reputed national and international journals, and he has attended 31 national and international seminars. He has prepared radio lessons for UG/PG students broadcast on All India Radio, and his TV lessons on "Financial Markets" for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University students were telecast on Doordarshan (Yadagiri and Saptagiri channels). He completed a UGC Major Research Project on "The Emerging Dimensions of Corporate Capital Formation in India" (1 April 2013 – 31 March 2015).
He has been invited as guest faculty by various colleges and universities to deliver extension lectures on Accounting and Finance for M.Com and MBA students, and by government agencies such as DRDA and the Women's Finance Corporation to lecture on entrepreneurship development, marketing management and accounting. He has also served as a resource person for refresher courses and orientation programmes organized by various institutions and universities.
He is a life member of the All India Commerce Association (AICA), New Delhi; the All India Accounting Association (AIAA), New Delhi; and the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi.
